Freedom of Information (FOIL)

The Freedom of Information Law (Public Officers Law, Article 6) (FOIL) grants members of the public access to the records of government in accordance with its provisions. For more information about FOIL and the Personal Privacy Protection Law (Public Officers Law, Article 6-A), visit the New York State Committee on Open Government’s website.

Public records requests to the New York State Franchise Oversight Board in accordance with FOIL are facilitated by the New York State Gaming Commission.

Submitting a FOIL Request to the Franchise Oversight Board:

IMPORTANT: Please clearly indicate in the description that the request is for the Franchise Oversight Board (FOB).

Right to Appeal: To the extent you believe you have been denied access to a record by the Franchise Oversight Board, you have thirty (30) days from the date of the determination to make a written appeal.  You may make an appeal in writing by email, mail or fax to FOIL Appeals Officer via the above email, mail or fax addresses.
